When the noise is over. When you’re alone with you. When nothing is moving. When the world settles into the shadows of the night. When you ponder. When you go yonder in your thoughts. When you listen for the still small voice of God. Then take your Bible and read—and remember that God is Light, for He dispells the darkness.
Remember God also speaks. And He moves. He makes noise to our heart as if calling with a trumpet of notes, like love. Rich. Sweet. Life-changing. For He reminds you that you’re not alone. That you can move with Him. That your thoughts are not His, and His ways are higher. That when you listen, you’ll hear His calm voice as He soothes your brokenness and as He heals the wounds from the past, or from the present.
He is God. He is the Great I Am. He is the Way. He is Truth. He is Life. He is the Creator. He is the God Who sees. The Everlasting God. The Provider. The Master. Our Healer. The Lord of Peace. The Lord of Hosts. The Rock!
He is Good. He is Holy. He is Mercy. He is Grace. He is Jehovah. He is Infinite. He is Omnipotent. He is Love. He is Just. He is Sufficient. He is All-Knowing. He is Omnipresent. He is our Banner. And He is Wise!
He is Sovereign! Faithful! Our Comforter! And He is our Father! The Author of Life! The Bread! The Shepherd! The Chosen One! He is Counselor! The Door! The Cornerstone! The King!
May we remember, “That you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” Philippians 2:15 ESV
May we then, press on to be lights for Him, for He is worthy to be praised! Let’s be intentional in our walk, in our prayers, in our choices, and in our pursuit of living a life pleasing to Him!
Let us … shine with a light that points to Christ and to the cross! To redemption! To the empty tomb where life rises up from the dead of night! To where we run and not grow weary! Where we live with a joy in serving the Lord and become ‘love notes’ for Him to others!
Though we may walk through the valley of the shadow of death or sorrow or worry or even loneliness, His banner waves over us as He lavishes His love over us. Conquering our fear because He’s with us. He’s in the midst of our struggles and troubles. He’s all we need.
May we make our heart His home! And say yes to the call He pours into our life!
